Everyone Breaks
One of the professionals I consulted about Desert said with torture, sooner or later, everyone breaks. Everyone.
She has a point. Like Robert Wideman, refusing to answer questions when a POW. They tied his arms so tight, they turned purple, completely comfortable cutting them off. He started answering their questions. Bill Gunter survived unbelievable conditions where others just lied down and died.
But then there are other stories, like Irene Sandler, and Corrie Ten Boom, who I am beyond impressed with. There are a few others I can't list here.
What do you think? Do you know of any stories where they did not break?
