A poster. A dream. A news clip. Those are the things that started Desert.
Angie spotted the first--a poster--inside a teen section of a local library. It showcased an attractive guy and girl with superhuman strength and powers, standing together, ready to defeat the bad guys, a cold, calloused look in their eyes.
Believing evil can be defeated without becoming cold-hearted, Angie decided to create a kind-hearted heroine more like today's youth. She wanted readers to finish the book feeling inspired and motivated to win in life.
Driven, Angie worked early mornings and stayed up late nights, squeezing writing into her hectic schedule. Then in 2015, after three years of working, she received a scathing peer review. Rather than give up, she scrapped the old Desert and started all over, writing for another two years before Desert became what we enjoy today.
